AmeriCheer & Athletic Quest present the annual
Cheerleader of Cheerleaders college scholarship

AmeriCheer and Athletic Quest are proud to award one $1,000 college scholarship annually to a senior cheerleader who participates in the AmeriCheer Resident Summer Camp program. The winner will possess outstanding cheerleading skills, genuine spirit, an excellent attitude, good behavior, and the will to always excel in life and cheerleading.


Cheerleader of Cheerleaders finalist selection 
One cheerleader will be chosen at each AmeriCheer Resident/Commuter Camp by the AmeriCheer Summer Staff. Input from the individual’s current cheerleading coach may be considered in the selection process.

Criteria to be chosen at camp:

• Must be beginning senior year of high school.
• Have plans to further education at an accredited college/university after completing his/her senior year.
• Display outstanding cheerleading skills to be determined by the AmeriCheer Instructional Staff.
• Show genuine spirit at camp and school events.
• Have an excellent attitude.
• Exhibit good behavior at all times.
• Possess a “coachable” personality.
• Have the will to always excel in life and cheerleading.

Scholarship application requirements
Each participant will submit the following to the AmeriCheer office:

• Written recommendations from his/her current cheerleading coach and a teacher, guidance counselor, athletics director or principal.
• A personal essay on a given topic.
• A resume or list of activities encompassing his/her high school career.

A selection committee will consider all applications and determine a winner. The decision of the AmeriCheer scholarship selection committee is final.

Cheerleader of Cheerleaders award ceremony     
A special recognition ceremony will be held during AmeriCheer’s Ohio Cheerleading and Dance Championships in Columbus, Ohio. Each finalist will have a personal biography placed in the OCC program to be read as each Cheerleader of Cheerleaders finalist is announced and enters the floor during the recognition ceremony. The finalists’ biographies will also be featured on the AmeriCheer website.

Cheerleader of Cheerleaders winner
The winner will receive a scholarship in the amount of $1,000. The winner will also become an automatic member of the AmeriCheer Instructional Staff for the following summer, as well as a spokesperson for AmeriCheer. He/she will represent him/herself at various AmeriCheer functions to be determined by AmeriCheer. The winner will also be featured in an article on AmeriCheer’s website and in promotional projects throughout the year.
